Day 11, 12, The End!
Well folks, this is the end.  Apologies for the delay, I had to take a break and settle in at home and unpack.  The end of the trip took us from Denver, through lame Kansas, through St. Louis, southern Illinois, Paducah Kentucky, Nashville and Chattanooga Tennessee and finally to Atlanta.  The ride home wasn’t as fun filled as the ride out West, as we were pretty beat from the wind and the...

Day 10
Kansas is lame.  550 miles of nothingness.  Fought the wind the entire way.  Cowboy camped in an RV park just outside of Topeka.

Day 9
We had a nice ride out of Moab, Utah on Highway 128 this morning.   This highway is full of mesas on either side of you, and is where a ton a Western movies were filmed.  The area is called Cathedral Valley.  We followed I-70 into Colorado and were able to see the lovely Rocky Mountains.  We took a nice picnic lunch in the Grizzly Bear recreation area.  Everyone was pretty exhausted today, so...

Day 8
Beautiful day today. We arrived in Moab, UT in the afternoon. We checked into our hotel and headed to Arches National Park for sunset. We saw some incredible scenery and we ended the day with a grueling hike to Delicate Arch. It was definitely worth it to see the famous arch. We had Moab Brewery for dinner, which was fantastic.

Day 7
Today we headed out to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Western Utah.  It was a terribly long and straight drive there, but well worth it.   The Bonneville Salt Flats are incredible and where tons upon tons of landspeed records have been made and broken. It’s definitely a circus of different people, and a lot of cool bikes to see.  After leaving the Salt Flats, we touched Wendover, Nevada for a...

Day 6
We had a very interesting start to this morning.  Thomas and my bike would not start.  Blaine and Dad’s bike started up with no problems.  We jumped my bike, and had to run (bump) start Thomas’s bike.   Not the best way to start a day on motorcycles in higher elevation and as it warms you up running a bike.  We finally got on the road and headed out of the Grand Canyon North Rim down...

Day 5
What a much needed relaxing day.  We woke up with no destination today and no riding motorcycles as well.  For the first time in my life, I can say it was nice to not have to ride a motorcycle.  We stopped in the camp cafe for some morning coffee and email check.  After that, we hiked out to Angel Point to see some of the beautiful views of the Grand Canyon, which I posted below.  Today was such a...

Day 4
Another incredible day in our journey to the Grand Canyon.  We witnessed a beautiful sunrise over New Mexico in our campsite at Blue Water.  We braved I-40 for a quick 30 miles and then got off the interstate to hit some backroads until the Grand Canyon.  Tom from Idaho joined us all the way to the Grand Canyon, and it was great to have his company.  The ride into the beginnings of the Grand...

Day 3
Today was a much more relaxed day that than the first two days.  We started out of Amarillo and our first stop was Cadillac Ranch.  This is a very strange landmark, as there is a row of Cadillacs buried half way into the ground in the middle of a Texan field.  We played around and even tagged one of the Cadillacs with our moto club, The Dirtys.  We then headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  As we...

Day 2
Today was a very long day, but we covered a ton of distance - over 600 miles!  We left our campsite in Arkansas and headed out of Little Rock towards Oaklahoma City.  It started to get pretty toasty in Oaklahoma and we had to take a few breaks to get our energy back up to speed.  The semi trucks are relentless and non-stop on I-40.  We finally arrived in Amarillo, TX, and what you hear is true -...
